Getting to Fortune Centre, and where to park
Three MRT stations are walkable, the bus stop is two minutes away, and the car park is inside the building on three levels.
Fortune Centre is at 190 Middle Road, on the corner of Bencoolen Street, next door to Kwan Im Thong Hood Cho Temple.
By MRT
Bencoolen on the Downtown Line is the closest. Leave by Exit B and walk about four minutes along Middle Road.
Rochor, also Downtown Line, is around seven minutes on foot.
Bugis, where the Downtown and East West lines interchange, is roughly a ten minute walk and is the one to use if you are coming from the east or west.
By bus
Two stops sit within two minutes: Middle Road before Waterloo Street, and Middle Road after Waterloo Street. Both put you on the correct side for the main entrance.
By car
Parking is inside the building, on Levels 5, 6 and 8, entered from Middle Road.
Weekends are difficult. The temple next door generates heavy traffic on Saturdays and Sundays and the car park fills early. If you are coming to eat on a weekend, public transport is genuinely the better call.
For drop-offs, pull in directly in front of the building along Middle Road.
Once you are inside
The podium is not intuitive, and this catches people out.
Escalators run from Level 1 to Level 4 and serve all the shops and food. Lifts serve the office floors, Levels 9 to 20.
If you enter from Waterloo Street you arrive at Level 3, not Level 1, and have to walk through to reach the escalators. If you take a lift up to Level 3 from the Waterloo Street side you then walk through the car park to get down to Level 2 — several visitors have described learning this the hard way.
The Bencoolen Street entrance has an escalator that takes you straight up to Level 2, which is the fastest route to the dessert and café ring.
Hours
Most food opens between 9 and 11am and closes by 8 or 9pm, though Su Shi Piao Xiang on Level 1 opens at 7am. Shops generally close earlier than food, around 6 to 7pm. Offices keep standard weekday hours.
Individual hours vary a great deal and several units close one weekday. Check the directory and call ahead.
